CS/CIS Laboratory Policy
All the policies described in the UTB/TSC Handbook of Operating Procedures (HOOP) must be maintained in CS/CIS laboratories. In addition the following rules must be followed:
1. A valid and updated student ID is required to use the CS/CIS laboratory facilities.
2. Before using the CS/CIS laboratories students are required to sign in the entry form and to show their ID to the laboratory assistant in turn.
3. Only work related to CS/CIS courses is allowed in the CS/CIS laboratories.
4. All computers must be shutdown when the laboratory is closed, except for the com- puters reserved as servers.
5. Laboratory should be quiet, i.e., no voices, sounds, or laughs should be heard.
6. Sound of cell phones or pagers must be turned off.
7. Cell phone calls in the laboratory are prohibited.
8. Games, including computer and table games like chess are prohibited.
9. Food or beverages are not allowed.
10. Disconnecting or moving equipment is strictly prohibited.
11. Improper use of Internet to exhibit any type of improper violence, language, sexual actions, or nudity is considered an offense.
12. Downloading programs not related to the mission of the University is prohibited.
13. Printing material for purposes not related to CS/CIS courses is forbidden.
Students violating this policy will be denied entrance to CS/CIS laboratories and the UTB procedures related to rules of conduct will be followed accordingly.
